The Morristown zoning board heard hours of testimony Wednesday from an engineer and architect who presented plans for a mixed-use retail/residential subdivision on Ridgedale Avenue.
The property at 75-81 Ridgedale abuts Route 287 and contains a former Wells Fargo parking area.
The plan calls for two, two-bedroom apartments on the upper level and retail on the ground floor.
The board must consider several C and D variances that are necessary to subdivide a lot for unconventional mixed-use that is zoned for one, cohesive building and one residence.

The modern aesthetic incorporates landscaping, lighting, shade trees and lawn areas. The apartments also come with terraces at the rear of the buildings.
The plan also calls for 18 parking spaces, bike storage and underground utilities.
A vote on the Walsh family’s proposed South Street restaurant with rooftop dining was pushed back until next month.
