Survey Ends Labor Day 2026
The North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) is conducting a corridor study to explore potential extensions and improvements to the Traction Line Recreational Trail.
The public survey for this project closes on Labor Day.
The popular 2.7-mile recreational trail parallels NJ Transit tracks between Morristown and Madison.
This study is exploring options to connect the Traction Line directly to Patriot’s Path and the Rahway Valley Rail Trail. The NJTPA is actively soliciting feedback from residents who walk, bike, or roll to identify existing gaps, difficult crossings, and barriers that prevent comfortable travel. The objective is to create safer, more accessible active-transportation options to reach neighborhoods, parks, open spaces, and transit.
This initiative is a partnership between the NJTPA, the New Jersey Bike & Walk Coalition, and the Rails to Trails Conservancy as part of the broader North Jersey Trail Network initiative.
