The candidates filed their petitions on Monday. Here are the key deadlines for you, the voter, according to NJ 11th for Change:

April 11 – Primary Deadline for Party Affiliation Declaration. If you are registered with one party, but wish to vote in the other party’s primary, you must change affiliation by this date. Unaffiliated voters may declare for a party at any time up to, and including, at the polls on Primary Day.

May 15 – Primary Voter Registration deadline

May 29 – Primary Vote by Mail deadline

June 5 – PRIMARY ELECTION

Oct. 16 – General Election Voter Registration deadline

Oct. 30 – General Election Vote by Mail deadline

Nov. 6 – ELECTION DAY
