During compressed weeks like this, we’re mighty glad to have a great weekend calendar — because that’s where we’re going to refer you for plentiful entertainment choices.

We’ll just underscore that you don’t want to miss Santa’s triumphal return to the Morristown Green at 6:30 pm on Black Friday, Nov. 25. Don’t forget to visit the Toys for Tots collection area, staffed by the Morristown Fire Department for the U.S. Marines. And you can visit with Santa on the Green from noon to 7 pm on Saturday and Sunday. There will be electric train rides and ice sculpting, too.

With that, we will wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving, and leave you with this video from last year to put you in the proper mood for Mr. Claus:

We're not sure, but we think Thomas Nast made this illustration of Santa atop Century 21 in Morristown... On Nov. 25, the jolly old elf will be lowered from that very roof to the cheers of thousands of kids. The festivities start at 6:30 pm on the Morristown Green.
