Morristown was among the estimated 3,000 venues nationwide participating in Saturday’s No Kings “Vote Early” campaign, with pockets of activists at the Green and on South Street distributing voting information.

Organizers billed the latest round as “hyperlocal,” and crowds were smaller than at the prior three rallies.

“Rallying in a powerful show of nonviolent defiance, local organizers proved that grassroots strength easily overcomes attempts at corporate and political suppression, both on the streets and online,” said a statement from No Kings national organizers.

They included the ACLU, American Federation of Teachers, Black Voters Matter Fund, 50501, Indivisible, League of Women Voters, MoveOn, Public Citizen, State Voices, and Voto Latino.

Although organizers said the weekend gatherings were intended as nonpartisan “get out the vote” rallies, anti-Trump signs were evident, both locally and across the country.

The New York Times quoted a White House spokesperson as saying, “The fact that the ‘No Kings’ organizers are talking about voting in the upcoming election proves they should change their name.”

Natalie Baldassarre, a spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee, told the newspaper that demonstrators were shouting “into the void…No Kings Day happened on July 4, 1776.”

Organizers said Meta blocked the No Kings Coalition’s Instagram page for hours on Saturday; Meta called it an accident, according to the coalition.

Election day for congressional midterms and local races is Nov. 3, 2026. Early voting in New Jersey begins on Saturday, Oct. 24, and lasts through
Sunday, Nov. 1, according to the League of Women Voters.

Early voting polling locations will be open from 10am – 8pm on weekdays and Saturdays, and from 10am – 6pm on Sundays. Registered voters
can cast their ballot at any early voting polling location in their county during the early voting period.

Greater Morristown polling locations are listed here.

Another option is vote-by-mail. The deadline to register is past. Greater Morristown voters unsure if they are already signed up to receive a Vote-By-Mail ballot can contact Morris County Clerk Ann Grossi or use the Track My Ballot tool at Vote.NJ.Gov.
