CANCELED! Attention motorists (and joggers!): The Morristown Corporate Classic 5K is tonight, July 16

UPDATE: Thursday’s night’s race is CANCELED because of poor air quality.

Motorists in Morristown will want to avoid a swath of streets this evening, Thursday, July 16, 2026, during the Morristown Corporate Classic 5K.

From the Morristown police:

This Thursday, Morristown will once again host the Morristown Corporate Classic 5K road race event.  The event features thousands of runners who will negotiate a course that will travel through the neighborhoods off of Mills and Early streets, as well as the Cutler Park neighborhood, map attached.

The race is designed primarily as an opportunity for co-workers to get together to enjoy an evening of fun and fitness in a spirit of camaraderie with their fellow employees by participating as a member of their company’s corporate running team.

This course will be closed to vehicle traffic during the race, which is slated to begin at 7:30 pm.  The road closures ensure the safety of the participants and will be staffed by uniformed police officers from the Morristown Bureau of Police and other surrounding jurisdictions.

The closures will affect Early and Mills streets, Sussex Avenue, and several offshoots of those roadways.  We anticipate the entire event being complete at approximately 9 pm, with only Early Street remaining closed for the breakdown of the start and finish line.

Early Street will be closed at 5 pm, Atno Avenue and Clinton Place will also be closed at approximately 5 pm.  Please seek alternative routes if traveling in this area on Thursday.
