A 25-year-old man was found dead on a Morristown park bench Monday afternoon. A second man was transported to Morristown Medical Center.
“While the investigation remains ongoing, the death does not appear to be suspicious at this time,” said Meghan Knab, a spokesperson for the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
The Prosecutor’s Office was notified at about 2:45 pm, after a bystander reported two men sleeping on a bench on Orchard Street, Knab said.
Residents said it was in the park at Orchard and Vail Place, where yellow crime tape remained on Monday evening as children played in the playground there.
Several residents, who did not wish to give their names, said they thought the person taken to the hospital was a woman.
Another body was discovered nearby last year, they said. The neighborhood has been plagued by vagrants, according to two residents.
Across town, the body of a 52-year-old man was found last month on a bench near the First Baptist Church on Washington Street, in a suspected overdose.
I don’t know that neighborhood, but that can happen anywhere.
One thing that is missing from the article is the standard reassurance: “The public does not appear to be in any danger at this time.”
Nice offer but we don’t care about weed thx. Imagine if that were found at WH!!!
