An unlocked Porsche was stolen in broad daylight from a driveway in Morris Township on Wednesday, police said.

The black 2018 Porsche Panamera was taken at 5:15 pm from a home in the vicinity of Lake and Ketch roads.

Morris Township police logoPolice said security camera video shows the suspect jogging to the vehicle and entering through the driver-side door. The key fob was inside.  A white box van was parked in the neighborhood, though police said they are not sure if it played any part.

The stolen Porsche was seen a short time later on security video from another home in the area, where a different suspect is seen checking out a white BMW in a driveway, police said.

Police described the first suspect as a Black male, wearing a black ski mask, gray/green and black jacket with yellow sleeves, blue jeans, and black sneakers.

The second suspect was a Black male, wearing a black baseball hat, white t-shirt, brown shorts, and white sneakers, according to police.

Anyone has camera footage that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Detective Dombrowski at (973) 326-7486.

“Also, please be vigilant in locking your vehicles, even if they are in your driveway/garage. Take valuable items out of the vehicle and remove key fobs,” police said in a statement.

  1. If someone is ignorant enough to leave their car unlocked with a FOB inside, they shouldn’t be surprised when this stuff happens. Especially after all of the local car thefts recently.
