After an absence of more than four months, the movies are scheduled to return to Morristown on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013.

AMC, the new operator of the 10-plex at Headquarters Plaza, is poised to start welcoming customers at noon, according to people close to the scene.

Major renovations of the cineplex are anticipated to start in January. In the meantime, all 10 screens will be showing films.

Friday’s lineup includes: Gravity, Enough Said, Free Birds, Bad Grandpa, Captain Phillips, Last Vegas, Ender’s Game, Cloud With a Chance of Meatballs 2, and Thor: The Dark World.

We’ve been told that prices will look like this:

After 4 pm, tickets will be $11 for adults and $9 for children.

Screenings before noon (planned for weekends) will be $6.50. Matinees (noon to 3:55 pm) will be $9.25 for adults and $7.25 for children.

Seniors get a discounted price of $7 on Tuesdays.  Students with a high school or college I.D. pay $8.25 on Thursdays.

The theaters went dark after Clearview Cinemas left in June.

AMC, which ran the cineplex when it opened in 1987, is promising new screens, speakers, digital projectors and comfortable power recliners, along with fresh paint, new carpets, renovated restrooms.

Concessions also are scheduled for an upgrade next year, to include chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, French fries, jalapeño poppers, pizza and Coca-Cola Freestyle.

As of Wednesday, the cineplex entrance still was in a state of transition. The Clearview sign remained on the wall.

But the most celebrated holdover was nowhere to be seen.

AMC officials have remained mum on the status of Eric “Fluffy” Glover, the popular “Ticket-Taker Guy” whose humorous routine won legions of fans over the years.

Fluffy has said the chain has re-hired him on a part-time basis, though he is hoping to work full-time.
