BEAT-THE-HEAT TIPS FROM JCP&L:
- Close air conditioning registers in unused rooms and keep the doors to the rooms closed.
- Don’t position heat-producing appliances near wall-mounted thermostats.
- Consider setting air conditioners a few degrees warmer on hot days.
- Close drapes or blinds on windows that receive direct sunlight.
- Cook with the microwave instead of the oven.
- Run kitchen and bath exhaust fans only as long as necessary. Leaving a fan running pulls cool air from your home.
- Curtail use of unnecessary household appliance.
