Morristown police are seeking information about a man they say tried to lure a 9-year-old child into his car on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
Police said the alleged incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Speedwell Avenue near Sussex Avenue. The suspect was described as a black male wearing a red shirt and black hat, and driving a black vehicle with red striping. He “verbally instructed the victim to get into his car.”
The child left the scene and contacted police.

A similar incident, allegedly involving a driver described as an older white male driving a white vehicle, was reported last month at Mills Street and Sussex Turnpike.
