So you want to be an acoustic performer…where to start?
Try the Presbyterian Church in Chatham on April 5, 2014. The Northeast Regional Folk Alliance is staging a mini-conference there, hosted by the Sanctuary concert series and the Folk Project.
It runs from 10 am to 9 pm and will include sessions in which venue bookers, radio DJs, booking agents and promoters…
- Instantly critique a song from your CD, revealing why some songs make the radio while others don’t, and what it takes to get bookings.
- Share tips on how to build a tour, and how to develop a coffeehouse or concert series.
- Discuss how to market yourself, grow an audience and make money doing it.
Ten artists also will perform 15-minute sets, starting at 4 pm. Scheduled performers are:
Scott Wolfson and Other Heroes
Tickets for the full day are $50; if you’re just coming for the singer showcase, admission is $10. Register here.
The church is at 240 Southern Boulevard. Call 732-828-8770 for more details.
