So you want to be an acoustic performer…where to start?

Try the Presbyterian Church in Chatham on April 5, 2014. The Northeast Regional Folk Alliance is staging a mini-conference there, hosted by the Sanctuary concert series and the Folk Project.

It runs from 10 am to 9 pm and will include sessions in which venue bookers, radio DJs, booking agents and promoters…

  • Instantly critique a song from your CD, revealing why some songs make the radio while others don’t, and what it takes to get bookings.
  • Share tips on how to build a tour, and how to develop a coffeehouse or concert series.
  • Discuss how to market yourself, grow an audience and make money doing it.

Ten artists also will perform 15-minute sets, starting at 4 pm. Scheduled performers are:
