The Miracle Worker
November 22 @ 7:00 pm - November 24 @ 7:00 pm$15 – $18
Helen is in a world of her own, blind and deaf in an age when the differently-abled were often put in asylums. Meanwhile, Helen’s parents, Kate Keller and Captain Keller ) are struggling to both care for and protect their child from a difficult world. Aunt Ev and James Keller struggle to live with the disabled child. Helen’s teacher, Annie Sullivan, is the true heroine of this story, as she works with Helen and her family to help connect Helen to the world around her.
The students of Morristown HS are excited to be performing a show that celebrates diversity and the strength and love of a talented teacher. Arguably one of the most impressive aspects of this play is the relationship between Helen and her teacher, Annie Sullivan, whose methods were both revolutionary and effective. The popular 1962 film earned both Anne Bancroft and Patty Duke Oscars for their roles as Sullivan and Keller, respectively. Join us to support the cast, crew, hair and makeup, and costumes students who have been hard at work since the start of the process.
