Renaissance (New Directions) – April 2025 Jewish Broadway Composer, Irving Berlin!

Come join TBO’s own, Geoffrey Weinman, Professor Emeritus and former Dean of the Arts an Sciences at FDU, as we explore the great composer, Irving Berlin!
Please RSVP by or before 4/4/25, so we know how much food to order! (We’ll serve a delicious deli lunch, the perfect companion for our Broadway discussion!)
This program will focus on the words and music of the Jewish songwriter, Irving Berlin, creator of such iconic songs as “God Bless America” and “White Christmas.”
But he was also the author of ragtime and satiric songs, as well as two famous Broadway musicals. We’ll discuss his lyrics, listen to some of his music, and examine his influence on the American scene.
