Music for Passiontide Organ and Soprano Concert in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Internationally acclaimed Estonian organist Ines Maidre-Aarvik will perform a concert at St. Bernard’s Episcopal Church, 88, Claremont Rd., Bernardsville, NJ on Tuesday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m. The concert is a fundraiser for the New Jersey Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and a part of local musician James D. Hicks’ multi-year campaign in support of the New Jersey chapter’s ongoing work. All proceeds from a voluntary offering will go directly to NJ CFF.
Ms. Aarvik will present organ music from her native Estonia, and masterworks by Johann Sebastian Bach. In addition, she will be joined by Estonian soprano Arete Teemets in liturgical works for Holy Week by Gabriel Fauré; Maurice Duruflé; and Franz Schubert.
Ines Maidre-Aarvik is a Professor of Organ at the Bergen, Norway Conservatory of Music and is performing at Lincoln Center, NYC as well during this visit. She has released many recordings devoted to the music of Estonia as well as repertoire from other traditions within the organ repertoire. Active as a touring artist, she has performed throughout Europe, North America, and Asia. This is her first visit to New Jersey.
