Lydia’s Tale at The Morristown and Morris Township Library

The Morristown and Morris Township Library presents Lydia’s Tale: The Mystery of Lydia Darragh, Irish Quaker, Patriot Spy

Lydia Darragh eavesdropped on British forces as they planned a surprise attack, then snuck through the lines and warned American soldiers.  Her actions are said to have saved George Washington’s army from a devastating ambush in Whitemarsh at the end of 1777.  But did the secret she brought to the Patriots really prevent their defeat? Robert N. Fanelli, author of Lydia’s Tale, and Secretary of the Washington Crossing American Revolution Roundtable, will tell Lydia’s story in the Library’s Lower Level Meeting Room at 2:00 p.m.
