Greystone’s Legacy

February 18, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$7 – $10
Rusty Tagliareni and Christina Mathews filming Greystone's Kirkbride building, before the state demolished it.

The authors of Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital, Rusty Tagliareni and Christina Mathews, will speak on the evolution of the Preserve Greystone movement, its impact on preserving other Kirkbride buildings nationwide, and Greystone’s similarities to other Kirkbride buildings, including the preserved Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in West Virginia, which MCHS will visit April 12-14. The public is invited to participate in that bus trip. The program also will include a 15-minute screening of the team’s in-production documentary, Greystone’s Last Stand. Sponsored by Morris County Historical Society, this is the first of two multimedia presentations by the Greystone historians.
