Celebrating 26 Years of Wonder! December 1–10

In 1991, staff and Board Members of The Friends of The Frelinghuysen Arboretum thought that having a display of gingerbread houses would bring guests to our lovely gardens at a usually quiet time of year. They were right. That first year, there were under a dozen exhibits and a few hundred guests. Recent shows have featured over 200 displays and attracted over 13,000 guests!

The magic of Gingerbread is hard to describe. “Gingerbreads” are not only houses, but also landmarks, trains, planes, and animals and include every theme from favorite show tunes to commercials, from family vacations to superheroes. It’s a collaborative thing of joy that celebrates our diversity and our commonality. Start your holiday by sharing your talents, points of view and memories at the 2017

Vote for your personal favorite in The People’s Choice Award, sponsored by Shop Rite of Morristown. An award will be given to the first place winners in each of six categories: Adult, Family, Children, School, Scout and Special Needs. Groups of 8 or more must make a reservation to visit by calling 973-326-7601.

Dates: Friday, December 1 – Sunday, December 10 Time: 10:00 am – 4:30 pm daily, Fridays until 7:30 pm
