Fresh Air Fun for the Entire Family

July 8 @ 10:00 am - July 29 @ 11:00 am

$3 – $22

MORRISTOWN, NJ – All ages are invited to learn about the unique history that surrounds Morris County Historical Society’s Acorn Hall while enjoying the picturesque six-acre property on four Wednesdays in July. All programs are geared to ages 7 to 12, and begin at 10 a.m., rain or shine. The four-program series begins on Wednesday, July 8.
Acorn Hall’s Awesome Architecture: Walk around the exterior of Augustus Crane’s “country house” to discover the features that make Acorn Hall special.
Let’s Go Crazy (Quilts): Learn how bright and wild quilts with fun shapes and hidden pictures live up to their names on Wednesday, July 15.
Nest Box Neighbors in Our Backyard: Discover which native New Jersey bird is using our nest boxes, and create a fused glass project of a backyard bird in partnership with Glassworks on Wednesday, July 22. Advanced registration and payment is required for this program.
By Hand or By Horse: Before the days of cars and power tools, there were still places to go and things do. From ice sleds to tree saws, explore how our ancestors got the job done on Wednesday, July 29.
Programs are $3 per child with the exception of Nest Box Neighbors, which is $20. Free for accompanying adults.
