Choral Art Society of New Jersey, one of the area’s leading community choral organizations, announces two open rehearsals as preparations begin for its 2026/2027 season.
Singers of all ability levels with choral experience are invited to attend open rehearsals on Tuesday evenings, September 15 and September 22. Rehearsals are held in the Chapel of The Presbyterian Church in Westfield, 140 Mountain Avenue, Westfield on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
If you love to sing, plan to attend one or both of the open rehearsals, where you can meet members of this talented, social, growing group of dedicated singers. You are encouraged to arrive at 7:00 p.m. to complete an interest form, meet the music director, and borrow music. All voice parts are welcome and no formal auditions are conducted.

Music Director, Seth Velez, has planned an innovative repertoire for this season, including “This Winter Night” (January 24, 2027) a celebration of the turning of the seasons, including works by John Rutter, Florence Price, Claude Debussy, Johannes Brahms, Ola Gjeilo, Elaine Hagenberg, Franz Schubert, Matthew Culloton, Gustav Nordqvist, and Adolf Lindblad; and CAS Spring Concert (May 8, 2027), featuring Ralph Vaughan Williams’s “In Windsor Forest.”
Choral Art Society, originally The Suburban Symphony Chorus, in existence for 64 years, is a group of avocational singers dedicated to the study and performance of great choral masterpieces, spanning centuries and styles. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose members share a common joy in singing and community.
