STEP INSIDE MORRISTOWN’S HISTORY
AT THE 2026 HISTORIC DISTRICT HOUSE TOUR

This Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026, from 11 AM–5 PM, Macculloch Hall Historical Museum (MHHM) invites the public to step inside some of Morristown’s most distinctive historic properties during its biennial Historic District House Tour.

This year’s self-guided tour features seven private residences, a featured garden, the historic Kellogg Club, Macculloch Hall Historical Museum, and, new this year, special access to the Morristown Club—New Jersey’s oldest private social club.

The Morristown Club, which has a history spanning more than 130 years, is not ordinarily open to the public. House Tour guests will have the special opportunity to step inside this remarkable setting, take a break during the tour, and enjoy a light luncheon and beverages available for purchase.

The tour begins at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum, at 45 Macculloch Ave., where participants will pick up their tour guidebook before exploring the Museum’s galleries and gardens. From there, guests can set out at their own pace, visiting the featured properties in any order they choose. All tour locations are conveniently located within walking distance of the Museum.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Morristown’s Historic District showcases more than two centuries of architectural design, from elegant Georgian and Classical influences to the ornate beauty of Queen Anne Victorian homes. Whether a history enthusiast, architecture lover, gardener, or simply curious to see inside places that are rarely open to the public, visitors will discover a unique glimpse into one of New Jersey’s most significant historic neighborhoods.

As Macculloch Hall Historical Museum’s largest fundraiser, the Historic District House Tour supports the preservation of the Museum’s 216-year-old house and gardens, conservation of its collections, and year-round educational programming. The event also provides an opportunity for the community to experience and celebrate the history of Morristown in the places where that history unfolded.

Tickets are $75 in advance and $85 on the day of the event, subject to availability. Advance purchase is encouraged, as the popular tour has sold out in the past. For tickets and additional information, visit here  or contact the Macculloch Hall Historical Museum at 973-538-2404 or by email.
