If the forecasts are accurate, snow plows will be very busy over the latter half of the weekend. To give them room, Morristown residents can park free in three Morristown Parking Authority garages from 7 pm on Saturday, Jan. 24, through 8 pm on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026.

Full details are below.

A winter storm watch remains in effect from late Saturday through Monday afternoon, with 12- to 17 inches of snow and one-tenth of an inch of ice possible, according to the National Weather Service.

The New York Times has a nifty tool for parsing the national forecast by zip codes. As of Friday morning it listed these snowfall probabilities for Morristown:

  • 6 to 8 inches: 8 percent chance
  • 8 to 12 inches:  37 percent chance
  • 12 to 18 inches: 41 percent
  • >18 inches: 9 percent

Morristown town hall has announced a delayed opening until noon on Monday — subject to change.  Nothing posted so far by the Morris School District, the Morristown & Township Library, or the Morris County Courthouse.

Morristown has a long history of people stepping forward in pivotal moments.

When you chip in to Morristown Green, you’re helping your neighbors stay informed, strengthening our civic backbone, and carrying on the spirit that’s defined this town since its earliest days.
