Morristown mayor, council candidates to face off in Sept. 16 virtual debates

Got a question for Morristown’s mayoral and council candidates?

Submit it by 4 pm on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, and it may get asked at virtual debates set for Tuesday, Sept. 16.

Hosted by The League of Women Voters of the Morris Area and the New Jersey Hills Media Group, both forums will be livestreamed on the LWV Morris Area YouTube channel.

The mayoral debate begins at 6:30 p.m. with candidates Tim Dougherty (Democratic incumbent), Andrea Lekberg (Independent) and Bruce Meringolo (Republican).

The council debate follows at 8 p.m. Republican challengers Andrew Delaney, Celeste J. Kaitsa and Aaron “A.J.” Oliver will face off against Democratic incumbents Toshiba Foster and Nathan Umbriac.  Democratic incumbent David Silva is not participating.

The election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025.
