THURSDAY, JULY 31, 2025:

Morristown & Township Library continues its free Morning Yoga upstairs in the F.M. Kirby Gallery at 10 a.m. No registration necessary. At One Miller Road, Morristown. More info

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey roars into the final weekend of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] [again] at 7:30 p.m. in a rapid-fire romp through all 37 plays in 99 minutes. FRIDAY, AUG. 1:

The Morris Plains Rotary Club meets at 7:45 a.m. in the upstairs room at Uncle Giuseppe’s, 1171 Route 10 East, Morris Plains. This week’s speaker is local entrepreneur Jim Myers, who will share tales from his international travel business, Myers Tours. Fee: $15, includes all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast. More info

At 6 p.m., the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts hosts a free lawn concert featuring the Kings Road Band at 9 Main St., Madison. The five-piece band blends melodic pop and rock with layered vocals and deep local roots. Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy this Downtown Development Commission-sponsored performance as part of METC’s summer series. Free. More info

At 6:30 p.m., Great Swamp Watershed Association leads a twilight trek for curious kids and their grown-ups with Nature Detectives: Night Magic Family Walk at the Conservation Forest of Madison’s Recreation and Conservation Complex. Follow naturalist Ginger Van Ryzin as she guides families through the woods to investigate animal tracks and other signs of nocturnal life, wrapping up at dusk with a chance to spot fireflies and moths. SATURDAY, AUG. 2:

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Morris Plains Farmers Market hosts its starriest event of the season: the Annual Watermelon Carving Contest, featuring WNBC’s Produce Pete as celebrity judge. Carved creations must arrive by 10 a.m. sharp to enter for a shot at the Provident Bank-sponsored grand prize. Pete will stick around for meet-and-greets and book signings throughout the morning.
