Summer must be on the way. The 11th annual Morris Winter Farmers Market came to a close on Sunday.

The event averaged nearly 900 attendees at Convent Station in Morris Township each Sunday since December, said Lisa Alexander, executive director of Grow It Green Morristown, the nonprofit organizer of the market.

Forty-nine vendors were featured.

“We have lots of people that bring their children, their dogs. It’s just a great way to spend time outside, and also to support local farmers, ranchers, and artisans who are looking for a way to support their businesses during the winter — which is important to us. We are farmers as well,” Alexander said.

Grow It Green’s Urban Farm in Morristown will open its farm stand in June.

And the Morristown Farmers Market, operated by the Morristown Partnership, returns to Parking Lot 10, off Dumont Place behind the Morristown Post Office, from June 16 through Nov. 24, 2024.

Plans for the next winter market have not been finalized, Alexander said.
