From Burr to Beasts, Greater Morristown has plenty of entertainment coming your way this weekend.

THURSDAY, MARCH 30, 2023:

Jazz favorite Grover Kemble performs at Rockaway’s Caffé NaVona, 147 Route 46, from 6 – 9 pm. Hear him play songs from his new album, I’m Serious.

BUT SERIOUSLY: Grover Kemble with Caffé Navona owner Marco DeFilippis, with one of the first copies of Kemble’s new CD, ‘I’m Serious.’

Morristown’s St. Peter’s Episcopal Church hosts tango lessons in the Parish House, 7 pm for beginners, 8 pm intermediate class. At 70 Maple Ave.

After a five-year hiatus, Morris Arts welcomes back the Blackwell Street Juried Student Exhibit – its 31st – to the Atrium Gallery in Morristown. A free reception runs from 6 pm to 8 pm, on four floors of the Morris County Administration and Records Building, 10 Court St. The exhibition runs through April 27, 2023, and may be viewed during weekday business hours.

The Grace Church choir in Madison invites the public to its candlelit Chanted Compline, after its practice, from 8:30 pm to 8:45 p.m. Free. “Fifteen minutes of candlelight calm to end your day.” At 4 Main St. (Route 124) at the corner of Kings Road, 973-377-0106.


FRIDAY, MARCH 31:

Grace Community Music in Madison concludes its noontime Friday Lenten organ meditations at 12:15 pm with the poetry of John Donne. Free. At 4 Main St. (Route 124) at the corner of Kings Road, 973-377-0106.

Harpist Merynda Adams and flutist John Romeri will perform works by Bach, Mozart and Piazzolla at 7 pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Chuch in Chatham. Donations accepted at the door. At 200 Main St.

At 7:30 pm, the Folk Project’s Troubadour series presents Culomba, with opener Katie Weiss & Friends, at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship. Admission: $10; children 12 and under, free. Livestream: $4.99. At 21 Normandy Heights Road, Morris Township.

SATURDAY, APRIL 1:

The Morristown & Township Library hosts Indoor Qigong at 9:30 am. Free. No experience or registration required. Upstairs in the F.M. Kirby Gallery, at One Miller Road, Morristown.

St. John’s Episcopal Church in Boonton will host Addiction & Recovery: A Journey of Remembrance, Awareness and Hope from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm, memorializing lives lost and presenting resources for treatment. St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown presents Cecil B. DeMille’s 1927 silent classic, The King of Kings, with live organ accompaniment by Anthony Hammond. Free. At 121 South St.

The Folk Project presents a Swingin’ Tern Contra Dance from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Morris Plains. Admission: $5 – $15. At 29 Hillview Ave.


SUNDAY, APRIL 2:

Grow It Green Morristown’s Winter Market is back for its 10th season, from 9:30 to 1 pm each Sunday through April at the Convent Train Station in Morris Township. (Closed on Easter.)

The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey presents a program of Mozart and Beethoven piano concertos at 2 pm in Dolan Hall at Saint Elizabeth University in Morris Township. Tickets: $5 to $40.  A 2 Convent Road, 973-669-1640.
