Roman Santaniello, a junior at Morristown High School, won the prize for Best High School Horror Film for his Elf Off the Shelf, at the Brightside Film Festival in Jersey City on Saturday.

The festival, celebrating its 16th season, featured more than 30 submissions in the high school division. The competition also included divisions for college- and independent filmmakers.

Roman also produced livestreamed red carpet interviews at Morristown Onstage earlier this month.
