On New Year’s Eve, First Night Morris will fill Morristown with family-friendly fun.

And a few minutes away, Elizabethan merriment abounds in the Shakespeare Theatre’s production of Twelfth Night.

THURSDAY, DEC. 29, 2022:

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey in Madison presents Shakespeare’s comedy Twelfth Night at 8 pm; it runs through New Year’s Day. Tickets: $39 to $69. At Drew University, 36 Madison Ave., 973-408-5600. Read our review.

FRIDAY, DEC. 30:

At 7:30 pm, the Folk Project’s Troubadour series presents Carla Ulbrich with John Hone, at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship. Admission: $10; children 12 and under, free. Livestream: $4.99. At 21 Normandy Heights Road, Morris Township.

SATURDAY, DEC. 31, NEW YEAR’S EVE:

The Morristown & Township Library presents Countdown to Noon with Miss Jolie
via Zoom at 11:30 am. It’s a virtual New Year’s Eve special celebration for kids, with rhymes, music, dancing and fun with Miss Jolie. Click here to register for the ZOOM link to join the program.

The 31st annual First Night Morris County turns Morristown into a stage from 4:45 pm to midnight. More than 200 performers will bring music, comedy, dance and more to 21 venues.Perennial favorites include the John Ginty Band, Rio Clemente, Dinoman and Johnny Peers and the Muttville Comix. Alcohol-free and family friendly! Fireworks over the Green commence at 9:15 pm and midnight. There’s a film festival, too. A free shuttle bus will connect downtown venues with events at Morristown High School. Parking in Morristown garages also will be free. Tickets start at $30; family four-packs are $95.
