From Our Youth Their Future:

Our Youth Their Future celebrated its 10th Anniversary last weekend at the Marion Sally Residence Center in Morristown. We are extremely grateful to the Morristown Housing Authority for the use of the space.

The Christmas event was a great comeback, after in-person celebrations were put on pause due to the pandemic, which had pushed us to do toy deliveries. Needless to say, we were happy to return to our traditional holiday celebration and the kids were, too.

Thank you to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots, the Morris County Democratic Committee and Morris County Mocha Moms (an organization to support moms of color) for their toy donations.

Mocha Moms also supplied a Hot Chocolate Bar, which everyone enjoyed. Through the generosity of these organizations, we were able to provide toys for over 60 families.

Gingerbread House Kits also were donated anonymously, and the kids had a blast decorating them. Seeing the youth fellowship was truly amazing. Maybe next year, we’ll have a contest.

We are also thankful to the Horseshoe Tavern for its food donation, as well as to Mayor Timothy Dougherty, who donated pizzas from Pomodoro Ristorante & Pizzeria; and to Greg Deal (Morristown Parking Authority) who delivered pizzas donated by Nonna’s Pizza & Italian Restaurant.

Our Youth Their Future also would like to thank all the volunteers and elves for helping make the event a huge success. They included: Community volunteers, members of Bethsaida Chapter No. 7 and Morris County Mocha Moms.

Last but certainly not least, we’d like to thank Mayor Dougherty, First Lady Mary Dougherty, Council Vice President Sandi Mayer, state Assemblywoman Aura Dunn, and Morristown Housing Authority Board of Commissioners Tina Lindsey and Derrick Harris for taking time out of their busy schedules to come out to support and celebrate our 10th Anniversary.
