For your listening pleasure: ‘A Christmas Carol,’ recorded at St. Peter’s, Morristown

It’s hard to believe this reading of A Christmas Carol was recorded a decade ago.

The reader, the Rev. John Hartnett, retired last year as rector of St. Elizabeth’s in Ridgewood. And our host, the Rev. Janet Broderick, has moved on from St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown.

But the crackling fireplace in St. Peter’s rectory remains vivid in my memory. (You can hear it if you listen closely.) So, too, does the warmth of that gathering.

And so we continue our Morristown Green Yuletide tradition of presenting this replay, as our gift to you. Perhaps it will help you pass the miles in holiday traffic, or give you some company in the kitchen while baking your fruitcake.

It’s about 90 minutes long, divided into three parts.

So please, gather round our digital fire with Ebenezer and Bob for a virtual pint of smoking bishop.

God bless us everyone!
