Faster than you can say “Please welcome our next act,” a stage appeared Friday on the Morristown Green.

Five acts are scheduled to grace that platform on Saturday, for the 11th annual edition of the Morristown Jazz & Blues Festival.

The forecast for Sept. 17, 2022, is note-perfect: Sunny and 78 degrees. Bring a sweater with your lawn chair or beach blanket, though. When the sun goes down, the mercury may dip to 60 degrees.

Admission is free. The entertainment runs from noon to 10 pm:

  • James Langton’s New York All-Star Big Band gets the party started at noon.
  • At 2 pm, Frank Vignola’s Guitar Night at Birdland Band continues the Morristown jazz tradition of the late, great Bucky Pizzarelli.
  • Canadian singer/trumpeter Bria Skonberg, a Festival favorite in 2015 and 2018, promises a mix of new material and classics at 4 pm.
  • Teen sensation Veronica Lewis boogie-woogies onstage at 6 pm.
  • Walter Trout, a big hit in 2017, returns as the 8 pm headliner.
