THURSDAY, JULY 14, 2022:

The Morristown & Township Library presents yoga on its side lawn at 10 am. Free. Please bring your own yoga mat and equipment. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

The Verizon 5K road race returns to Morristown from 6 pm to 9 pm, starting and ending at Morristown High School on Early Street. Motorists can find road closures here.

Jazz favorite Grover Kemble performs at Rockaway’s Caffe Navona, 147 Route 46, from 6 – 9 pm.

At 7 pm, join the online discussion at the Morristown & Township Library’s Virtual Classics Book Club.Featured this evening: Chinua Achebe’s novel Things Fall Apart.  Email here for Zoom login info; include “Virtual Classics Book Club in the subject line.

FRIDAY, JULY 15:

The Morristown & Township Library presents Jazz in July, a fundraiser featuring the Library Dixieland Allstars, at 7 pm. Tickets: $20. Doors open at 6:30 pm. The show is in the library’s media wing. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

 

At 7:30 pm, the Folk Project’s Troubadour series presents Windborne, with openers Ken & Pat Rolston, at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship. Admission: $10; children 12 and under, free. SATURDAY, JULY 16:

The Morris Plains Farmers Market is back for 20th season, from 9 am – 1 pm every Saturday through Oct. 8, at 771 Speedwell Ave., the Speedwell Avenue Extension — across from The Plaza Restaurant and Taylor’s Consignment Shop.

Dig it! Plant it! Eat it! Family Saturdays return to Morristown’s Macculloch Hall Historical Museum, 10 am to 11:30 am. Free. Register here.  At 45 Macculloch Ave.

How did they make ice cream in the old days? Find out (and sample some!) at an Ice Cream Party at Fosterfields Living Historical Farm in Morris Township, from 11 am to noon, and again from 2 pm to 3 pm. Admission: $10/person, pre-registration required. At 73 Kahdena Road.

SUNDAY, JULY 17:

The Morristown Farmers Market is back for its 32nd season, every Sunday through Nov. 20, 2022, from 8:30 am to 1 pm, behind the Post Office in Morristown Parking Authority Lot 10 at Spring and Morris Streets. Presented by the Morristown Partnership.

The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey 2022 Summer Festival starts at 4 pm at The Madison Community Arts Center. Special guest: International pianist Patriceo Apaez, direct from Mexico. Ticket information online. At 10 Kings Road.

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown continues its six-week series of free carillon performances with a 5 pm concert by Wade Fitzgerald. Bring a lawn chair or beach blanket to the Great Lawn, at South Street and Miller Road.

The Morris Plains Recreation Department free summer concert series presents the Beatles tribute band London Calling from 6 pm to 8 pm at Roberts Garden. (Rain date: Monday, July 18.) Call 973-538-3455 for more.

  2. I hope they require a vaccine to participate and attend. If not I’m sure this will be a super spreader event. God help us all.

  3. Not many Towns are as special as Morristown, The Morristown Green calendar has something for everyone.
