There is no shortage of intriguing activities this weekend in Greater Morristown.

Honor our Vietnam veterans. Celebrate Morris County’s diversity. Experience Shakespeare under the stars. Hear a Cambridge University choir with roots that pre-date the Bard. Bask beneath an 18-ton carillon. Explore Colonial Morristown. Meet your favorite comic book illustrators.

THURSDAY, JULY 7, 2022:

The Morristown & Township Library presents yoga on its side lawn at 10 am. Free. Please bring your own yoga mat and equipment. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

The Moving Wall, a half-size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, will be on display starting at 3 pm at the County College of Morris, 214 Center Grove Road, Randolph. The exhibition will continue through Sunday.

Jazz favorite Grover Kemble performs at Rockaway’s Caffe Navona, 147 Route 46, from 6 – 9 pm.

The Morris Museum’s Jazz on the Back Deck series presents The Telegraph Quartet at 8 pm. Tickets: $50 for for an 8’x8′ block that accommodates up to two patrons. Patrons may arrive as early as 6:30 PM to set up and enjoy the evening sun. At 6 Normandy Heights Road, Morris Township, 973-971-3706.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presents Much Ado About Nothing on the Outdoor Stage, on the campus of St. Elizabeth University in Morris Township, at 8 pm. Tickets: $30-$45; children 17 and under, free. At 2 Convent Road,  973-408-5600.


FRIDAY, JULY 8:

SATURDAY, JULY 9:

The Morris Plains Farmers Market is back for 20th season, from 9 am – 1 pm every Saturday through Oct. 8, at 771 Speedwell Ave., the Speedwell Avenue Extension — across from The Plaza Restaurant and Taylor’s Consignment Shop.

The Morris County Tourism Bureau continues its 2022 Summer Walking Tours at 10 am, with a Colonial Morristown Walking Tour. Tickets: $25, registration required. The Garden State Comic Fest returns to Mennen Arena in Morris Township, from 10 am to 6 pm, and on Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. Tickets: $25-$85.

SUNDAY, JULY 10:

The Morristown Farmers Market is back for its 32nd season, every Sunday through Nov. 20, 2022, from 8:30 am to 1 pm, behind the Post Office in Morristown Parking Authority Lot 10 at Spring and Morris Streets. Presented by the Morristown Partnership.

The Diversity Coalition of Morris County presents its 5th annual Diversity Day, celebrating One Community, Together Again, on the historic Morristown Green. Free. It starts at 11 am with an Interfaith worship service, followed from noon to 4 PM with live music, entertainment, prizes, and a sampling of local and international food prepared by coalition partners and local restaurants. The rain venue is the Morristown United Methodist Church on South Park Place.

CCM President Dr. Anthony J. Iacono will welcome VFW Post 7333 members and the public to The Moving Wall, a half-size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, at the County College of Morris in Randolph. See Thursday entry for more details.

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown presents the Choir of Christ’s College, Cambridge, in a free 3:45 pm concert. The program will include works by Victoria, Gibbons, Howells, Elgar, Stanford and Parry. At South Street and Miller Road.

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown continues its six-week series of free carillon performances with a 5 pm concert by Paul Stelban. He studied carillon at Yale and now plays at First United Methodist Church of Germantown, in Philadelphia. Bring a lawn chair or beach blanket to the Great Lawn, at South Street and Miller Road.

The Morris Plains Recreation Department free summer concert series presents the Moon Dogs from 6 pm to 8 pm at Roberts Garden. (Rain date: Monday, July 11.) Call 973-538-3455 for more.
