The 28th season of the Mayo Performing Arts Center will get a kickoff befitting Morristown’s Revolutionary history.

Renée Elise Goldsberry, who won a Tony for her portrayal of Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton on Broadway, is the opening night headliner for a 2022-2023 season that also includes Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Wynton Marsalis and Kristin Chenoweth.

New Jersey Ballet’s Nutcracker with the New Jersey Symphony also returns for an 11-day run over the holidays.

Goldsberry’s stage credits include The Lion King, Rent and The Color Purple. She also has had leading roles in such TV series as One Life to Live, The Good Wife and Altered Carbon, in a career stretching back to Ally McBeal, where she was a backup singer.

Although the 51-year-old star officially opens the MPAC season on Sept. 30, 2022, a slew of summer shows will get things rolling, starting with Best of the Eagles on July 14.

The theater also will present a roster of free community concerts and movies throughout the summer. Scroll down for listings.
