The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch through 7 pm today, Friday, May 27, 2022.

That’s in addition to a “Hazardous Weather Outlook.”

The Morris County Office of Emergency Management explains:

The information provided by our weather partners suggests that a line of storms is currently moving across central PA and will continue pushing east slowly throughout the afternoon into this evening. These storms have the potential to produce 50+ mph gusts and an isolated tornado in the greater region this afternoon. The main timeframe for these severe storms is between 3:30 PM – sunset, though additional storms can linger afterward. With the potential for slow-moving downpours, some typical poor drainage flooding is likely and streams/creeks may also see localized flooding. After midnight tonight, the activity will turn more intermittent and less organized, ending the threat for flooding even if it takes longer for showers to completely end.
