From Grow It Green Morristown:

Cohome thinks #RecyclingPlasticisFantastic
Keep your plastic pots and trays out of the landfill

Cohome Inc. in Morristown is a model for inclusive co-living, welcoming neuro-diverse people of all abilities. As part of its work, Cohome provides enriching activities that encourage friendships, independence, and self-advocacy.

In May, programs focus on sustainability, upcycling and recycling. To create a unique program, engage its residents and help the environment, the organization reached out to Grow It Green Morristown.

Every year, while it is wonderful to see all the planting going on locally, there is a byproduct that is not as positive- all the plastic pots and trays. A volunteer at Cohome Inc. approached Grow It Green about Cohome’s residents collecting the pots and trays from any local residents in the area during Grow It Green’s annual spring seedling sale this Saturday. May 14, 2022.

Save your plastic pots and trays from your home planting and bring them to The Urban Farm at 31 Hazel St. in Morristown! Cohome residents are volunteering their time and will be waiting for you to come on by and drop off between 10 am – 1 pm.

The Seedling Sale is from 10 am – 2 pm. Please visit www.Growitgreenmorristown.org to preorder by Thursday, May 12, or check out the organically grown seedlings that will be available on site.

These are some of the same varieties that Farmer Shaun has been growing for The Urban Farm for donations, the farm stand and CSAs and funds raised help support their programs. Seedlings are eligible for SNAP purchases. Please note that Grow It Green requests you to return the trays from the day of the sale to The Urban Farm so we can clean and reuse them.
