Morristown said goodbye Tuesday to Amy Lynn Miller, an accident victim who leaves behind a 9-month-old daughter.
Miller, 31, died on the evening March 29, 2022. She was standing outside a disabled vehicle on Route 78 in Union and was struck by another vehicle. State Police are investigating.
“The best day of Amy’s life was June 27, 2021 when her beautiful daughter Olivia Jeanne was born. Amy was an absolutely incredible mother to Olivia, and everything she did from that day on revolved completely around her. The way they smiled at each other was truly different than with any other people,” stated Miller’s obituary.
Born in Morristown, Miller attended the Assumption School and Villa Walsh Academy in Morris Township. Her dad coached her Shooting Stars soccer team.
Miller graduated cum laude from Villanova University in 2012 with a degree in marketing and communications.
At Villanova, she met her future husband, Justin Miller. They were engaged in Prague in 2016 and married the following year. They honeymooned in Hawaii, and in 2018 moved from Montclair to Morristown.
For her 30th birthday, Miller brought home Webster, a miniature dachshund puppy, fulfilling a lifelong dream.
She worked for the Savanna company for a decade, rising to vice president of investor relations.
“Amy gave 100 percent to everything she did, no matter how large or small. She was passionate, patient, organized, and driven to make a meaningful mark both personally and professionally,” her obituary said.
While “effortlessly confident and professional,” Miller also was “incredibly funny, light-hearted, and creative. A side of her which some people may not have even known was that she was always singing, dancing, and making up songs for Olivia and even Webster,” the obituary continued.
Her funeral Mass was at Assumption Church in Morristown.
Miller’s survivors, in addition to her husband and daughter, include her parents, Marybeth and Bill Watkins; her sister Megan Watkins and brother Rusty Watkins and his wife Claire; nephews Ward and Reed Watkins; and parents-in-law Patty and Lee Miller.
Donations in Miller’s memory may be made to the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania.
