Center.

THURSDAY, MARCH 31, 2022:

Jazz favorite Grover Kemble performs at Rockaway’s Caffe Navona, 147 Route 46, from 6 – 9 pm.

Learn the Art of Tea-Blending, from 6:30 pm to 8 pm at the Fosterfields Living Historical Museum in Morris Township. Admission: $25, includes supplies for mixing your own blend.  At 73 Kahdena Road, 973-326-7645.

At 7:30 pm, Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center presents American River, a new documentary from Director Scott Morris and Executive Producer Dillard Kirby, who also collaborated on a 2016 film about the grassroots effort to save the Great Swamp. FRIDAY, APRIL 1:

The annual Mount Tabor Tag Sale runs from 9 am to 4 pm, and returns on Saturday (9 am-4 pm) and Sunday (11 am-4 pm). Proceeds will help fund restoration of the Richardson History House. Grace Church in Madison presents half-hour noontime organ meditations every Friday throughout Lent at 12:15 pm, live and also via livestream. Today’s featured organist is Henry Marinovic, presenting a program of Bach, Brahms and Rutter. Free,  At 4 Main St., 973-377-0106.

No April Fool’s joke: The Folk Project’s Open Stage  is back– in live mode!– at 7:30 pm. To sign up to perform two songs, please email here.

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown kicks off a monthly series of live tango, from 8 pm to 1 am. A tango lesson will start the evening, and singer Carlos Habiague will perform at 10 pm and 11:30 pm.  Tickets are $20/person. Proceeds from an optional $10 gift basket raffle will go to Ukraine, via UNICEF.  In the Parish House, 70 Maple Ave.


SATURDAY, APRIL 2:

Union Baptist Church of Morristown welcomes Pastor Lance A. Mann with installation services at 11 am today and Sunday. Today’s service features Pastor Joe A. Carter of New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, where Pastor Mann previously served. Union Baptist is at 89 Spring St.

SUNDAY, APRIL 3:

The Morris County Park Alliance hosts its Spring Forward 5K at 9:30 am, at the county’s Central Park, on the Morris Plains/Parsippany border. Race fee: $37.  Proceeds benefit Morris County Parks, (973) 326-7616.

At 11 am, Union Baptist Church of Morristown welcomes its new pastor, Lance A. Mann, with an installation service. Pastor Derrick Lott from Houston, Texas, is scheduled to speak. See Saturday entry for more details.

The Hanover Wind Symphony returns to the Bickford Theatre in Morris Township at 3 pm, with Music as Motion, featuring Kenneth DeCarlo as trumpet soloist. The program includes Carnival of Venice and Fantasie Brillante. Tickets: $15-$25. At 6 Normandy Heights Road, (973) 971-3700.

Opera at Florham presents Love, Death and Redemption, at 3 pm at The Mansion of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison. Rescheduled from March 27, 2022. Tickets: $10-$25. Featuring music by Puccini, Verdi and Catalani and similarly-themed Broadway selections by Sondheim, Webber and Bernstein. Masks required. At 285 Madison Ave., 973-443-8620.
