Girl Scouts from across the Morristown area assembled on a chilly, cool December day to collect boxes, cans, and jars of food along with baby food and diapers for donation to the Interfaith Food Pantry.

Girls as young as 6 stood in the rain and held signs encouraging drivers to pull up and pop their trunks at two drive-through locations, Thomas Jefferson Elementary School in Morristown, and Alfred Vail Elementary School in Morris Plains. Older Girl Scouts then took turns unloading the donations and brought them to the food pantry.

Everyone took part in waving and holding signs to thank the donors. The girls were energized by the experience. Overall, Morristown Girl Scouts collected 1,750 pounds of food in one day for area households.
