Virtual Hearts & Hammers Gala on Feb. 26

Fundraiser Will Help Build Homes and Hope for Families in Need
Morris Habitat for Humanity announces the celebration of its virtual Hearts & Hammers Gala on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., in lieu of an in-person event.
The fun-filled evening will raise funds for the construction of 50 homes for 50 families in Randolph, Summit, Plainfield, Perth Amboy, Long Valley and Old Bridge.
Tune in to the free, live-streaming event to learn more about Morris Habitat’s mission to provide affordable housing as well as its impact on local communities. Attendees will hear directly from Habitat homeowner families who will share their stories, as well as honorees, volunteers and sponsors who have helped make Morris Habitat’s life-changing work possible.
The 17 th annual celebration, hosted by Toni Yates of WABC-TV, also will feature new construction projects, plans for the future, a silent auction, ways people can get involved–even during the pandemic—and more surprises.
“The need for affordable housing has never been greater, and the gala will help provide critical support for our projects,” said Morris Habitat for Humanity CEO Blair Schleicher Wilson. “We hope people will join us for a fun evening—all from the comfort of their own homes.”
The evening’s spotlight will be on the Hearts & Hammers Gala honoree presentations. Gala honorees for 2022 include: state Sen. Joseph F. Vitale (D-19th Dist.), with the Leadership Award; Sean Monaghan of Schenck, Price, Smith & King with the Professional Partner Award; Carol Anderson-Lewis, Elizabeth Rifino and Headley Weeks with the Donald H. Kuhn Inspiration Award; and David Farrell, immediate past president of the Morris Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors, with the Beth Everett Award.
