THURSDAY, JAN. 20, 2022:

Celebrate Squirrel Appreciation Day (a day early!) at 4 pm, at the Schiff Natural Lands Trust & Schiff Nature Preserve in Mendham. A drop-off program includes a hike and “nutty” games for kids ages 6-10. Member fee: $10 per child; nonmembers, $15/child. At 339 Schiff Drive, pre-registration required. The Morristown & Township Library hosts a 7 pm Virtual Evening Book Club discussion, featuring The Mother-In-Law by Sally Hepworth. Email here  with the subject line “Virtual Evening Book Club” for the Zoom link. Please include your full name and town of residence.

The Macculloch Hall Historical Museum in Morristown presents a 7 pm Zoom talk, A Taste of History at Home: Gingersnaps. Cynthia Winslow, curator of education, will prepare a 19th- century gingersnap recipe in a modern kitchen. The recipe will be emailed to participants prior to the program. FRIDAY, JAN. 21:

Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center presents Rent, The 25th Anniversary Farewell Tour, for four shows this weekend, starting this evening at 8. Tickets: $59-$99.  Masks, proof of vaccination or recent negative COVID-19 test required for ages 12 and up. At 100 South St., call 973-539-8008.


SATURDAY, JAN. 22:

Jonathan Clancy, director of collections and preservation at The Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms, kicks off a 15-week Zoom series, Close Looking: Design, at 1 pm. Fees: $25- $325.  The online courses run each Saturday through May 21, 2022.

SUNDAY, JAN. 23:

The Morris Winter Farmers Market is back for a ninth season, at a new venue: Convent Station in Morris Township.  It’s open from 9:30 am to 1 pm each Sunday through March 27, 2022. More vendors, more space, and more free parking, promises sponsor Grow It Green Morristown.
