THURSDAY, DEC. 30, 2021:

Almost certainly, you will recognize someone from your family in Dylan Thomas’ A Child’s Christmas in Wales at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey in Madison. Peopled with eccentrics and blowhards, sexy aunts and cloying cousins, political uncles and poetlcal parents, this holiday gathering combines comic Yule misadventures with a nostalgic warmth that feels especially comforting after our long pandemic darkness. Although not a musical, strictly speaking, the production abounds with charming songs, delivered with brio by a superb cast. Showtime: 8 pm. Tickets: $45. At the Drew University campus, 36 Madison Ave., 973-408-5600. The show runs through Jan. 2, 2022. See COVID protocols.
