Greater Morristown salutes our veterans with several events this weekend, including an Armistice Ball.

There also is a holiday boutique, plenty of music, and even some comedy.

THURSDAY, NOV. 11, 2021:  VETERANS DAY

Relax and decompress at 10 am, with yoga on the side lawn of the Morristown & Township Library. Please wear a mask to enter and exit the session, and bring your own yoga mat and desired equipment. The event is open to all ability levels and no sign-up is required.

Morris Township will observe Veterans Day with a 10 am ceremony outside the municipal building, at 50 Woodland Avenue.

Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center presents Master Chef Live at  7 pm . Tickets: $29-$109. Masks, proof of vaccination or recent negative COVID-19 test required for ages 12 and up. At 100 South St., call 973-539-8008.

The Folk Project presents a 7 pm livestream of Sloan Wainwright, as part of the Inside the Song series. Free; goodwill donations appreciated.

FRIDAY, NOV. 12:

The Woman’s Club of Morristown Holiday Boutique kicks off from noon to 8 pm, and continues on Saturday ( 9 am to 4 pm) and Sunday (10 am to 3 pm). Admission: Free. All sales proceeds support the club and its charities. Holiday decorations, kitchenware, and more. At 51 South St. Face coverings must be worn inside.

At 1 p.m., Purple Hearts Reunited will present the long-lost Purple Heart of a World War II solider from Morristown to members of the American Legion Post 59 and the Board of County Commissioners, at the Commissioners’ meeting room in the County Administration Building on Court Street in Morristown. The medal was earned by Private First Class Edmund C. Vance of Morristown for wounds received in action at Saidor, New Guinea, on April 6, 1944, during WWII.

At 7:30 pm,  The Folk Project hosts its monthly virtual open stage.  Email here to sign up for a slot.  Admission: $5. Vaccinated children 12 and under free but must be accompanied by parent or guardian.  Masks are required for the audience. Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center presents The Cancel This Comedy Tour, featuring Alonzo Bodden, Mitch Fatel and Tammy Pescatelli at 8 pm. Tickets: $29-$49. Mature themes, language. SATURDAY, NOV. 13:

The Woman’s Club of Morristown Holiday Boutique continues from 9 am to 4 pm. See Friday entry for details.

The Madison Arts & Culture Alliance and the Borough of Madison present Summit’s Improv Comedy Team, The Flip Side, at the Madison Community Arts Center at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. At 10 King St., 973-615-8799.

Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center presents The Little Feat By Request Tour, with special guest Jack Broadbent, at 8 pm. Tickets: $59-$99. Masks, proof of vaccination or recent negative COVID-19 test required for ages 12 and up. At 100 South St., call 973-539-8008.

The Metropolitan Vintage Dance & Social Club presents its  13th Annual Armistice Ball  from 8 pm to 11 p.m. in the Great Hall at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown. The Metropolitan Club Orchestra, led by Dan Levinson, provides the music. A workshop on early 20th century dances is scheduled for 2 pm to 4 pm in the church hall. Ball tickets are $40 in advance or $45 at the door ($20/$25 for students with ID.) Tickets include workshop. Proceeds benefit the Thursday Morning Club of Madison. Intermission ceremony will honor active military personnel and veterans in attendance.  Light refreshments.  Attire of the 19-teens or ‘20s, military uniforms, or modern formal or semi-formal dress is requested. SUNDAY, NOV. 14:

It’s the penultimate weekend for the Morristown Farmers Market, which runs through Nov. 21, 2021. Seventeen vendors are selling local produce from 8:30 am to 1 pm, in parking lot 10J, behind the Morristown Post Office at Spring and Morris Streets. Presented by the Morristown Partnership.Persons at high risk for COVID-19, as defined by the CDC, may be admitted early, at 8 am.

Pianist Jenny Lin performs Glass Reflections, The Music of Phillip Glass and others, including Ligeti, Busoni and Schubert, at the Morris Museum’s Bickford Theatre in Morris Township at 2 pm. Tickets:  $40, Museum Members $35. At 6 Normandy Heights Road,  973-971-3706.

The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey presents Bach’s Coffee Cantata, works by Telemann and Handel, and and the world premiere of Cecilia Waltz by Italian composer Franco Moro, at 2 pm at Dolan Hall, at Saint Elizabeth University in Morris Township.
