From Preschool Advantage:

Preschool Advantage, a Morristown-based non-profit that has helped more than 1200 children access a quality preschool experience, created a unique outdoor fundraising event last month.

Mindful of COVID-19 precautions, the organization was determined to safely honor the directors of their partner preschools for their heroic work throughout the pandemic.

“These schools kept classroom doors open and young learners engaged under the most challenging circumstances imaginable,” said Preschool Advantage Executive Director Nancy Bangiola.

“Honorees, guests, and sponsors gathered on an unseasonably warm October night to celebrate and to raise funds for local families who need assistance affording preschool tuition for their children.”

As a special treat for their partner preschool directors, Tony-nominated Broadway star Kate Baldwin performed A Million Dreams from the hit film The Greatest Showman.

The showpiece of the program, which raised $185,000, was a 35-minute director’s cut of the 2020 documentary film No Small Matter, co-directed by Emmy-winners Danny Alpert and Greg Jacobs, and executive-produced by legendary actress and activist Alfre Woodard.

Charity auctioneer Nick Dawes lent his fundraising skills to the evening, at the Fosterfields Living Historical Farm in Morris Township. Proceeds will fund a full year of preschool tuition for 35 local children.

Since its inception 26 years ago, Preschool Advantage has helped more than 1,200 children start school with the skills they need to learn and thrive. To learn more about Preschool Advantage, call (973) 532- 2501 or view our website.
