A flash flood watch remains in effect for Greater Morristown through 5 o’clock today, Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021.

Another one- to two inches of rain could fall, according to the National Weather Service.

Whitehead and Washington Valley roads in Morris Township were closed as of noontime, police reported.

A state of emergency declared Monday by Gov. Phil Murphy remains in effect.

“Given these winds, no one should be surprised if they lose power,” Murphy said during a briefing on Tuesday morning.

Jersey Central Power & Light reported only a handful of outages in Morristown and Morris Township, and fewer than 100 across Morris County as of 1 pm Tuesday.

Rain is forecast into the evening, with gusts of up to 25 mph. Clearing is anticipated on Wednesday.
