CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Morris and Sussex Counties
and Local Artist Mariah Ringhoff Raise Funds to Support Children in Foster Care
This past Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Morris and Sussex Counties and local New Jersey artist Mariah Ringhoff hosted an Art Auction at the Roxiticus Golf Club in Mendham.
Over 140 friends and supporters gathered to bid on 54 original works by Ringhoff. One hundred percent of funds raised support CASA in its mission to provide best-interest advocacy for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment.
“We were honored to be able to partner with the very talented Mariah whose works resonate with many,” stated Lisa Firkser, executive director of CASA of Morris and Sussex Counties.
Ringhoff, a Morristown-based artist, donates her work exclusively to raise funds for area non-profits.
“To celebrate my 50th birthday, I dedicate my year’s work of 54 paintings to support children on their journey to a safe, loving, and permanent home.”
In addition to advocacy and mentoring, CASA provides essential items like laptops, bicycles, school supplies, and birthday and holiday gifts to ensure children in the foster care system enjoy the usual hallmarks of childhood.
CASA ensures that these vulnerable children receive all of the medical and educational support they need to heal and thrive.
Guests moved and grooved to live music by the Sideshow Kings and The FLukes ukulele trio, as bidding wars ensued over the paintings, with some last-minute online bids coming from supporters across the country.
The FLukes and Niccolò Orsolani, who led guests into the exhibit hall with his modern dance performance, graciously donated their services to this important cause. The venue was adorned with flowers donated by Mendham’s Doug the Florist.
Those who weren’t able to take home an original painting were able to purchase a pack of 10 blank note cards which featured five of the artist’s paintings. These note cards still are available for purchase at www.casamsc.org. Tax deductible donations are also welcome to support this important cause.
