Grow It Green Morristown Family Festival to Honor Local Educator

Live music, local eats, relay races, flower crowns and more at
Alfresco at the Farm on Sat., Sept. 18

Put on your play clothes and celebrate the last days of summer by reconnecting with nature with some good farm fun! Grow It Green Morristown, a nonprofit focused on food justice and farm-based education, will host the 6th annual Alfresco at the Farm on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021.

Returning in person this year with new farm stations and games, kids can fill up their passports and enjoy time on the farm learning about pollinators, compost and seed gathering.

This year’s family friendly festival will honor local preschool teacher Kristina Young of Lafayette Learning Center, as the 2020-2021 Classroom Cultivator of the Year.

Alfresco at the Farm puts an urban twist on a country fair! Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy pizza from local favorite Millie’s Old World Meatballs & Pizza and drinks from new Winter Market vendor, Untamed Ferments. Scream Truck will be on site with ice cream for sale to help savor the end of summer.

Music kicks off at 4 pm with an interactive Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba session led by Chris Rodriguez. At 5 pm, live music from Darius Frowner and LaDonna Burns will fill the farm with great tunes as guests enjoy lawn games, watercolor caricatures, flower crown making, relay races, educational farm stations, and more.

No charge to attend thanks to the generous sponsorship of this community event by Kings Food Markets. Head to the one acre Urban Farm in Morristown and celebrate the final days of the summer season.
