THURSDAY, MAY 13, 2021:

Jazz favorite Grover Kemble performs at Rockaway’s Caffe Navona, 147 Route 46, from 6 – 9 pm.

The Morristown and Morris Township Library hosts two virtual book clubs: At 10 am, the group meets via Zoom to discuss This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger. At 7 pm, the Virtual Classics Book Club delves into the beloved Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Email here for Zoom links.

Learn more about our feathered friends: At 7 pm the Morristown and Morris Township Library presents Birds of Summer, featuring experts from the NJ Audubon Society and the Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary talking about avian creatures native to New Jersey. Email here for the Zoom code.

FRIDAY, MAY 14:

The Madison Arts and Culture Alliance presents a literary open mic from ARTS By The People, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, at Waverly Place. Bring a lawn chair.

Grover Kemble, Jerry Vezza, Hal Slapin, and John Vourtsis serve an eclectic repertoire, from the classic American canon to original compositions, at Shanghai Jazz in Madison. Seatings are at 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm, 973-822-2899.

The Folk Project revives its Open Stage, in virtual mode, at 7 pm. The event will feature musician Diane Polledri, followed by two-song slots filled by audience members. To sign up to perform, please email here.

Madcap performer Carla Ulbrich brings her zany songs to your living room (virtually, of course) at 7:30 pm. Free; tips welcome.


SATURDAY, MAY 15:

From 9 am to noon, The Morristown Environmental Commission and Morristown Clean Communities are hosting a community-wide Morristown Cleanup, starting from the Town Hall Parking Lot, 200 South St. Individuals and service groups alike are welcome to participate. The MOMI Museum of Imagination + Innovation celebrates the International Day of Families with a virtual chalkfest, from 9 am to 5 pm. Free; please register here.

Comedian Mike Marino, known for his sharp takes on daily life and his own Italian heritage, performs at the Mayo Performing Arts Center at 7 pm. Tickets: Live,  $45 to $55; livestream, $25. At 100 South St., 973-539-8008.

SUNDAY, MAY 16:

If you just can’t get enough original music, join The Folk Project for Joe Guzzo’s Stayaway Sundays Show at 3 pm. Each week, Guzzo presents fans with video performances from events past, interviews with performers, and his own take on the world of music.

The Catalyst Quartet performs selections from its UNCOVERED project, on the parking deck of the Morris Museum in Morris Township at 7 pm. (Rain date: Wednesday, May 19, at 7 pm). The Folk Project’s Acoustic Stayaway lineup continues at 7 pm, with singer-songwriter Mary Bue taking center (virtual) stage. Free, with all donations going to the artist.
