In the spirit of Earth Day, members of Morristown’s Bethel A.M.E. Church and the Whippany River Watershed Action Committee are asking for help with their annual Whippany River cleanup.

It’s scheduled for Saturday, May 1, 2021, from 8:30 am to noon. Volunteers are asked to bring work gloves to the church at 59 Spring St.  Other supplies will be provided.

“It’s a great opportunity to connect with nature, and those who care about our environment,” said Bethel Pastor Sidney Williams Jr.

“We look forward to helping the Bethel AME Church with our annual river clean-up,” said Siva Jonnada, chair of the watershed committee.

“As stewards of the Whippany River, the members of WRWAC are continuing the efforts to keep the river and its watershed as ecologically sound as possible. We also appreciate the volunteers who come to help us in these programs.”
